This September, Book Swap Circle summons readers to the Autumn Mystery Edition in the historic Oude Hortus. At the heart of this edition is the joy of swapping books: giving a story a second life, letting it travel to another reader, and discovering something unexpected in return. Next to the search for your new favorite book, find yourself a bookish gift or get crafty in the creative corner. Take your titles within Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Romance, Literary Fiction. Genres/titles that can be found in the Booktok and Bookstagram community. Steps 1. Take 1 up to 10 books to the check-in table 2. Receive 1 credit per book 3. Pick new favorites in the Swap area 4. Check out with your books and credits Rules for the books 1. Must be in good condition (no annotations, tape on corners, no old library books etc.) 2. English or Dutch (FOCUS WILL BE ON ENGLISH) 3. Titles within the Booktok and Bookstagram community 4. For titles within Literary Fiction, Thriller and Romantasy / Romance: only book editions of 2015 and later (check the first pages of the book for the date). Exceptions are books of Donna Tartt, Margaret Atwood and Kristin Hannah! 5. Ask yourself; Can I make someone happy with this book? 6. NO cookbooks and travelbooks We ask you NOT to bring the following books, since we have seen they are not picked from the tables and/or we are left with too many duplicates: 1. Colleen Hoover: It ends with us, It starts with us, Reminders of him, Ugly love 2. J.K. Rowling books 3. Twilight saga Make sure you do arrive within your time slot at the swap area. This ticket inludes, next to the book swap, also visiting the botanical garden "de Oude Hortus", which normally is €5. The ticket price reflects what it takes to bring the full Book Swap Circle experience. We transport our curated collection to the Oude Hortus, which has been enriched with extra secondhand books that we bought for the edition. We cover materials for the Creative Corner, invest in decoration and coins to create that cozy, magical Book Swap feeling.
